RESOLUTIONS

One defining moment just like a shadow on the wall
for if it is forgotten, it's like it never existed at all
It must be taken deep into the heart
and change the future with a brand new start
or it's nothing

Without direct connection
it's just another meaningless thought
You might think you sold your soul for better,
but it's emptiness you got
Not every battle can be won with force
It's naive to think we could ever stay the course
It's just running

Running in the wrong direction
Not to a better world, but running to the past
and the damage done by bad decisions
take their toll and steal what we had left
and the steely sharpness of some political sword
is thrust into the universal chord
and there's silence

I'm not going to take this anymore
I'm gonna keep on speaking my mind
and I'll tell what for
You can't control my thoughts I'm not your whore
and I'm gonna keep singing my songs
until we settle the score

I got a sense of what we should be living for
and you Mr. President are just a tired old bore
stop building up the rich and killing off the poor
the time has come for you to pay your dues
and that's when I'll watch the evening news
when you're gone
