THE GREAT BEYOND

Time is of the essence
can't think too much, I've got to keep a grip
Life is like a million miles of stairs
and I don't want to trip
Like a ripple in the pond I want to flow
Like a bird on prairie winds I want to soar
to the great beyond

There's a rainbow straight ahead
touching down right in front of me
Dancing in the rain upon the highway
so cosmically
The colors of the world it does contain
Sunlight piercing through the drops of rain
from the great beyond

Everyday is different dusk to dawn
and when it is my time for moving on
Let my faith carry me along
to the great beyond

I am here to tell you
I've found a way to keep within myself
a window I can open from the inside
when I need something else
It's only time and distance, how far, how long
Just below the surface the silence is the song
of the great beyond
