HUNGER OF THE GREED

In between the freeways, underneath the overpass
A bedroll and backpack tucked away and neatly stacked
It could be anyone of us at any time
A victim of the economic wars design

One day you have got a home and a growing family
Two months later there you are
begging on the street
The unemployment line grows longer every day
Living in America
why does it have to be this way

It's time to stop the hunger of the children that's for sure
Politicians answer with no clue about a cure
It can't be fixed by drugs or oil or even Hollywood
For those who live in poverty
the answer is no good

It's people helping people that's what it's all about
we can't rely on government to always bail us out
They may take our taxes to build a super bomb
but when homeland security
doesn't feed the children somethings wrong

Send our money overseas Big Brother's foreign aid
Take out countries with the nerve
to use the guns we made
and polish up the speeches for election day
While children starve to death
in the land of the free, home of the brave

It's time to change perspective, get another view
What is mot important in this world to you
Take care of America and find a way to feed
The hunger of the children
not the hunger of the greed

Please don't feed the hunger of the greed
