IN TIME

Everybody wants to leave their mark somewhere
you've got your ways I've got mine
everything we do while we're alive
determines so exactly what we leave behind

Every person has an impact on the world
Some are great and some are small
stepping stones create our chosen path
tiny pieces of the world we try to make them last

Waves of our emotions
crash upon the mind
leaving us in conflict
with our own design
In the end devotion
determines what we'll leave behind
In time

Trying to secure some immortality
long before the body dies
we always know for certain there's an end
got to take our place in time
the final curtain's just around the bend
