THIS
OLD HOUSE
This
old house has seen it's share
of changes through the years
Reflecting all the good times,
soaking up the tears
There used to be a countryside
right across the street
And out there in black forest
we would meet
First they built the golf course
and that kept growing strong
Now there's houses everywhere
for miles farther on
The old duck pond is now a green
for the 13th hole
The creek long since diverted
down below
This
old house, it owns a part of me
This old house, so full of memories
This old house, was made of love you see
This old house
Remember
the frogs under the porch
talking on a summer night
Remember the time we found that bat
living in the front porch light
Remember all those football games
on our knees in the living room
Remember the snowball fights
and the flowers bloom
Remember
raking leaves
in the autumn afternoons
and basketball games
in the driveway every night
Breaking out the window,
taking the outside shot
Until we gave it up or got it right
