SHADY
TREE
Never
did finish college
and I ain't got no degrees
I'm no good for anything
but checking out shady trees
It's 112 they tell me
some say it's 95
all I know is if it weren't for the trees
I wouldn't even be alive, I wouldn't even be alive
Summer
sun's beating down on me
and I can't take the heat you see
that's why you'll always find me
underneath a shady tree
I know that without the sunshine
nothing would ever grow
but I can't help the way I feel
and you know I gotta go, you know I gotta go
Sitting
underneath a shade tree
on a summer afternoon
sitting underneath that old shade tree
that's all I'm ever doin, that's all I'm ever doin
Open
up a beer why don't you
and sit down here with me
nothing seems too important
underneath a shady tree
the answer to all the problems
of the world in which we see
are committed to the ground around us
underneath a shady tree
Winter
winds knocking at my door
and the clouds block out the sun
I'll head down south to Mexico
and have a little fun
I'll kick back on the beaches
let the heat soak into me
let my mind just drift away
underneath a shady tree
