I'VE BEEN INCLINED

Taking some time to write you a line
Don't know when you're gonna call
It's been a while since I've seen your smile
The season's are changing to fall
I've been inclined to pass the time
knowing that you're getting by
now that you're near it makes it all clear
There's never as long of a time as we'd like

Wanting to stop the hands of the clock
but the time just rushes by
slipping so fast into the past
missed by a blink of the eye
I've been inclined to pass the time
searching for a reason why
Now that you're near it makes it all clear
the time that we have is enough to get by

The day is done and I'm on the run
constantly chasing my dreams
Knowing that I can always rely
on friendship to sew up the seams
I've been inclined to fall behind
avoiding all of the schemes
that turn me around and bring me back down
to this world of reality
so it seems
