Day
36- 2 hours - Tom removed the clamps on the fingerboard from
yesterday and inspected the angle of the fretboard in relation
to the body. He was pretty confident the overnight clamping
had corrected the issue enough to stop the fret buzzing. He
installed a Fishman under the saddle pick up and then we put
on new strings. We tuned her up and I played a couple tunes
for a test drive. AWESOME SOUND. This guitar will no doubt
be a favorite from here forward. There are still a few items
to complete before I am officially done with the initial work
on this guitar. I need to create and install the cover for
the truss rod on the head of the guitar. I need to create
the inside label and affix to the inside of the guitar. I
also have a strap button that needs to be installed on the
heel of the neck. Finally I need to smooth out the finish
of the entire guitar with steel wool to cut the imperfections
in the original oil sealing. I may apply more finish or I
may decide not to, I will decide once I have finished with
the steel wool polishing.
